If you use official unlock app to unlock bootloader, you will not receive OTA notify.
For now, there are no way to re-lock bootloader, so you can not receive OTA notify.
If you want to receive OTA notify, you should use Un-official bootloader unlock method to unlock bootloader.

• Download unlock tool official file From Above according your Device
• extract Downloaded Zip and install unlock tool apk on your zenfone 3
• open app and follow instructions 
• Done,

Unofficial Method To unlock Bootloader on Asus Zenfone 3-
1. Unzip the file.
2. Boot your zenfone 3 to boot-loader mode (you should firstly turn the phone off, then press and hold the volume up and power buttons )
3. Double click to execute "0.unlock_{Device}.bat"

If the bat file not work, you can try to execute following commands：
1. fastboot flash all unlock_{Device}.raw

How To Install Twrp Recovery On Asus Zenfone 3-

• Unlock Bootloader Of your Device.
• Download Twrp Recovery for Your Device From Above
• Download adb folder From above and Fastboot driver Installer From above
• then follow Bellow Instructions, BE Remember Bootloader Must Unlcok
• Go to  Setting>about Phone>type 7 time Build number > Back>Developer Option and Enable Device Debugging And Oem Unlock.
• Now Install Correct adb and fastboot Driver on Your pc, Go to adb folder connect device into pc open Cmd Here and type command > Adb Reboot bootloader
• Your Device  Booted in Fastboot Mod To check Device connectivity type

Fastboot Devices 

• Rename twrp into recovery.img and put in adb Folder, To flash twrp Type

• Recovery is Now Flashed [installed] make a System Reboot By this Command

• Download Super su.zip file From above and put into Root of sd card.
• Now connect Device into pc open cmd in adb folder and type bellow command to boot device into Recovery.

• You can Also boot Device into Recovery By holding power and volume up button same time in switch of mod.
• make a factory Reset
• Now Click on install zip from SD card navigate supersu.zip file and confirm install.
• after some seconds it say success , Ok you are done make a system Reboot.
